Acai berry juices have the bitterest taste among all forms of Acai fruit food and drinks. This is because the higher the concentration of Acai berry in juices, the bitterer it is. It is sometimes produced so concentrated that consumers are advised to take only 2 tablespoons per serving. Its bitter taste can sometimes be compared to dark chocolate or cocoa, but can sometimes even exceed it in bitterness. Some have even reported feeling sick and nauseous when consuming pure unadulterated Acai berry juice.
The trick to a tasty Acai berry juice lies in its preparation. When buying commercially produced Acai berry juices, check first the Acai concentration of the product. Usually, the more viscous and darker the fluid is, the higher the content of Acai meat and pulp is in the juice. Next, try to mix the juice with other sweet fruit juices like mango or apple. You can try other fruits depending on your taste and preference. You can also add honey or sugar to improve its taste.
Also, to decrease the bitter taste of Acai berry, you can decrease its viscosity by adding water and ice. Cold Acai berry juice prepared sweet have been known to be extremely more palatable than the pure juice alone.
