Huge Fine Given to Deceptive Marketer of Acai Supplement

posted in: Acai Berry - No Comments

Last June 25 of 2009 – Attorney General Goddard announced to the public that Central Coast Nutraceuticals, Inc, also known as CCN has to pay 1,375,000 dollars of settlement. This is due to the consumer fraud lawsuit filed against the company and its owner, Graham Gibson, after making deceptive online sales marketing on Acai food supplements.

According to complaints, the company’s website has a low-cost free trial offer on acai berry food supplements. Upon purchase of the “risk-free” trial, customers are also charged with other hidden services and products that they did not require. These additional charges are too costly to ignore that is why complaints were raised against the CCN and the owner. After receiving hundreds of complaints against the said company, the lawsuit was filed against CCN in December of 2008.

The acai health supplements that the CCN offers are indeed an effective food supplement. However, the method used by CCN in order to attain profit from it is illegal. This is not acceptable especially in today’s tough economy. Such deceptive online marketing techniques are punishable by law.

If you are one of the victims of CCN in its deceptive marketing, you can file a complaint in order to be eligible for restitution from the settlement.

Help Me! Can’t Make Ares Connect!

posted in: Ares - No Comments

I’ve been using Ares successfully for a while now. I love how easy it is download my favorite music. Of course I share some too: that’s what this game is all about, isn’t it?

Anyway recently I’ve been having some trouble in connected. I fire up Ares and wait. And wait. And wait some more. It’s been taking around 20 minutes to get connected at the moment, our all I’m wanting to do is start up, set it and leave it.

Yesterday I started Ares and it didn’t connect all day. I started again this morning, but again a 30 minute wait. Am I doing something wrong? I’ve tried reinstalling Ares, but that didn’t work. I tried installing a new version of Ares – Ares Vista – but again, while that helped it didn’t work.

So now I come to you, friends. Can anyone tell me how I can get around this frustrating problem, and make Ares connect consistently. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: since I wrote this post, I’ve been contacted by the very helpful Dave. Dave pointed me to a number of articles on the web dealing with this problem. Each of these concluded that the answer was to download something called AresConnect. AresConnect doesn’t replace the Ares utility, but works alongside to make it connect more efficiently.

I downloaded AresConnect, and I can say I’m impressed! Everything seems to be working just fine. I’ll report back if there are any problems, but so far so good.
